Read my review of Aritzia’s Cozy Sweatfleece line of sweatpants in various styles! Fit is shown on a 5’2″ petite Asian woman.

I don’t often post pure fashion posts or clothing reviews that aren’t related to Asian culture, but every winter I make an exception for Aritzia. As a southern California native transplanted to Seattle, finding cute winter outfits that actually kept me warm was a huge struggle. Enter Aritzia: the Canadian clothing brand that actually produces fashionable winter clothing. As a short Asian, however, sometimes finding the right size is still tough, so I’m showing the fit on some of my favorite winter items from Aritzia – their cozy sweatfleece line of sweatpants!

Cozy Sweatfleece Fabric – Is It Really Warm?

Let’s start with the fabric. Out of all the sweatpants I have ever worn in my life, these are the THICKEST I’ve ever felt. They are soft, plush, and most importantly, WARM. Here’s what Aritzia advertises for their “cozy sweatfleece” fabric: premium midweight fleece famous for its soft-brushed back, sueded face and cloud-nine plush feel.

I definitely agree about the plush feel and softness, but its the warmth I really care about. I wore these all winter. They’re 78% cotton and 22% polyester. I try to avoid polyester as much as I can, but I’ve felt 100% cotton sweats from other brands and they simply were not thick or warm enough. This fabric is also very durable – I’ve run these through the washing machine many many times and it’s held up great. I always wash in cold water and tumble dry low, and I’ve never had any issues with shrinking.

Aritzia Sweatpants – The Fit for Petites

Here’s the other big issue when it comes to shopping for me (and probably other Asians living in Western countries): everything is too long for me. So I was so happy to see that several of Aritzia’s sweatpants comes in short lengths! For reference, I’m 5’2″ and I typically order everything in XS short. Here are the styles I’ve bought:

Cozy Fleece Mega Cargo™ Jogger

I have these pants in the Heather Chrome color. They’re high rise and fit really well at the waist for me. Definitely kept me cozy and warm and the jogger cinch at the ankle made it the perfect length. Even though they’re called “mega” for a very oversized fit, I felt like it was still appropriate for my petite frame and didn’t overwhelm me.

Cozy Sweatfleece Mega Cargo™ Sweatpant

I got this in one of the limited edition colors, smoky sage, which is no longer available. I love the color, and I love the fabric, as usual. I also love the wide leg cut of the legs. However, the rise on this style seemed much lower than the others. It’s advertised as “mid” rise which is the same as the rise on the other sweatpants, but it hits below my belly button. It just feels a little too low for my mom belly, so I would not repurchase this style.

Cozy Sweatfleece Boyfriend Wide Sweatpant

These are THE PANTS. I absolutely love these so much. The wide leg cut is perfect, the rise is at my belly button, and the inseam pockets make the pants look slightly less casual. I actually get compliments on these pants all the time, especially with the black color. I think it fools people into thinking it’s a more polished look. I cannot recommend these sweatpants enough. I want to buy these in a million different colors.

More Aritzia Winter Clothing Reviews – Fashionable Cold Weather Clothes

In addition to the sweatfleece, I do have a few other of Aritzia’s winter clothing and activewear lines, including a few of their Tna and Golden pieces.

Tna Cozy Ankle Sock 3-pack

My feet are size 5 1/2 in womens US sizing, and finding socks that don’t slip is a bit of a struggle. For regular socks, Bombas work great. For cozy winter socks, pretty much all of them are too big, except for these! They’re slim enough to fit into slip-on boots, but much thicker and warmer than standard cotton crew socks. Highly recommend!

Tna HomeStretch™ Turtleneck

I bought this one to have a more form fitting top to go with the sweatpants. They also work well as an under layer to a baggier knit top. Nothing too special, but I feel like it’s better quality than some of the first layer long sleeve tops I get from other cheaper retailers. The fabric is very soft and stretchy. It was no longer in their catalog as of summer, but maybe they’ll bring it back for winter.

Golden Polartec® 200 1/4 Zip Hip Sweater

This is another Aritzia product that I rave about for winter. This keeps me SO WARM. I need to buy these in every color. I wore this 1/4 zip sweater with the boyfriend wide leg sweatfleece over a layer of Uniqlo heat tech long underwear. Then I topped it off with a Superpuff, of course, and I was full on sweating in the snow.

This is the 1/4 zip polartec and the cozy socks!
