This post is looooong overdue, but I thought Iโ€™d finally do a recap of our weekend trip to Ocean Shores back in May. Ocean Shores is about a 3 hour drive from the Seattle area. Itโ€™s got cute little AirBnbs along the Pacific Coast and a super scenic highway drive. You could also take a day trip into the Olympic National Park from Ocean Shores if you had the time. Given that we were traveling with a not-yet-one year old at the time, we opted to stay and relax along the coast.

Where We Stayed

Our rental cottage at Oyhut Bay

Isnโ€™t this the cutest little house? We stayed in the south portion of Ocean Shores, about a 10 minute drive from the city. This little rental is part of the Oyhut Bay Seaside Village. Oyhut Bay is basically its own little summer rental community. Theyโ€™ve got a whole bunch of rental cottages of varying sizes, a small grocery store, a bistro, and a coffee shop all on campus. They also have a playground and a fire pit. Thereโ€™s also free bikes to rent. The only thing we felt we were missing was a pool, but I heard there were plans to add more to the village. Maybe one is coming!

North Jetty, Ocean Shores

Oyhut Bay is super close to both Damon Point State Park and the North Jetty. There are various access points to the beach all along Ocean Shores, but those two beaches were the most scenic. The North Jetty had a picturesque rock formation that led out to the ocean. Damon Point has a nice walking trail where you can look for water fowl and scavenge for quartz among the seashells. We wouldโ€™ve biked there from our rental, but it was super windy and nothing for the baby to ride in.

Outside of Ocean Shores โ€“ Seabrook, WA

The cutest little flower truck in Seabrook

I need to be really real with you guys. We enjoyed Ocean Shores, but we LOVED Seabrook. Just a 30 minute drive north of Ocean Shores, Seabrook is also its own summer vacation community. Theyโ€™ve got cute rental houses and their own bakery and shops, just like Oyhut Bay. But theyโ€™ve ALSO got an indoor pool and a spa. And thereโ€™s also walking access to the beach. Jeremy and I both think weโ€™ll stay in Seabrook next time we want to head to the Washington coast. Weโ€™re high maintenance, okay?

Overall, we had a great weekend! Until next time, Washington Coast!
