Omg, I’m going to have to try the kinako rice krispies! Thanks so much for taking time to review.
]]>Thank you for this recipe! I’m JA so kinako is not a new flavor and I’ve tried to incorporate into my baking over the years (side note, try sprinkling it on Rice Krispie treats – it’s really good, sugar is a good partner for kinako!). I’m putting these in my xmas cookie boxes this year – halfway through baking I thought I’d sprinkle sparkly sugar on before baking and they improved appearance (I just used plain xmas tree cutters) a bunch. Regardless, a keeper for me!
]]>Thanks Mai! So glad you liked it!
]]>these came out so great! i added half the kinako in with the butter and the other half when I added the flour, turned out really good. super easy and tasty
]]>These were terrific. I used animal cracker cutters with stamped detail. I needed to chill the dough so it wouldn’t stick to the stamp part but otherwise super easy to work with. Held their shape perfectly and everybody loved them
]]>Using a moon cake press is genius! I’ll have to try that next time.
]]>
thank you for creating this! We’ll definitely make again. My toddler loves them too
]]>Thanks for confirming! We added a couple of eggs and it seemed much better 😛
]]>Oh dear… I do believe you are correct. I haven’t made these cookies since last Christmas (and apparently no one else has either), so I went back and looked at a reel I filmed of this recipe, and it didn’t show if I added eggs in the video either. But sugar cookies almost always have eggs, so I’m going to guess that I added an egg and just forgot to record it. I’m so sorry! I will go make the correction on the recipe now. I’ll put these cookies on my to-bake list so I can confirm it later!
]]>Great flavor though – love the peanut butter-like flavor of kinako.
